So glad to have found this place! We are gearing up to having chickens again. We had some several years ago when we lived in the country. Now we're in town, and our landlord has given us permission to raise chickens for eggs and meat.
I've got my chicks ordered for early June so we have time to build the coop. I ordered 10 CornishX, 4 Salmon Faverolles, 3 Australorps, and 3 Delawares. I was aiming for quieter hens, though several neighbors also have chickens, so I'm not too worried if they make a little noise.
We have a big family, so growing as much of our food as possible is important. I look forward to learning a lot here.
