(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, I'm new! I've wanted chickens for years, but only recently I've been able to "go in" with a friend who moved to a smaller homestead. So far one buff orp and then some "mystery breeds" from rural king, but adding thirteen layers today rehomed from another local.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Personally? None. But I'm probably going to have 6-8 that are "my" girls that will be a mix of Easter and olive eggers.
(3) What breeds do you have?
See above.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Eggs! There's still a lot to learn though. I've always loved birds, so I'm excited to get more into it.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Sewing, gardening, baking, cooking, embroidery...
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I try not to share too much about my family online. Privacy and all that.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I need more knowledge than I can get just reading random threads. Facebook is a deep pit of ads and it's frustrating to get active advice. I'm also hoping I'll eventually be able to source eggs for incubating closer to home.
