Racine cursed and ran to him at the same time, Elina got to him. She looked up at him with tears in her eyes. "We have to help him." The battle had depleted them all. The rest of the generals had gathered around them in concern for Aaran.
Thorn reached into his shirt and withdrew a large locket. He opened it to reveal a leaf from the tree of life. He held it out to her. "Use this. It's my fault, I should have provided better protection for him." He said with remorse.
Elina stared at him in shock. "Thank you, Thorn." She said softly, as she took it from him. She cradled Aaran's head and gently opened his mouth to place the leaf on his tounge. She then waited for it to heal him.

Orson gasped for breath, as he tried to get to his feet. He had no more antlers, he only had hooves and teeth left to fight.
The creature registered his movements. Still enraged by his attack, it charged Orson again. Orson wasn't quick enough to get out of the way. It T-boned him and he grunted, as once again, the air was knocked out of him.
