Fay led the way to the island, landing on the beach then looking to the others to wait for them to land or dismount and shift
Asclepius touched down on the black sand beach, noting the sparse vegetation and the obviously young volcano pulsing at the heart of this rocky island. A few sea birds screamed at them from their cliffside nests. Besides a few brown Tufts of seagrass and several palms near a clear bubbling Creek, there was very little else that wasn't part of the hulking shape of the volcano looking out over the water like an ominous figure. The island was new enough that there was no soil on the mountainside, just rock, sometimes sharp, sometimes in weird flowing black shapes. There were occasionally jets of steam popping at regular intervals, reinforcing the notion that this young volcano was still quite temperamental yet, and had not settled down.

"You can practically feel the crystalline bounty growing within these rocks. What a cornucopia of gems here! They may be raw, but there's enough food for a small flight of golden dragons here! Lady Faye, you are indeed most generous, to choose such a place for my kin to bring about the next generation of young." Asclepius bowed his head in thanks to the Goddess.

Fay smiled at the praise and looked to Ascelepius again "It was only a matter of finding the island and making sure it wasn't inhabited, come, let's see if she is awake" She said, heading up to the cave.

Jackie smiled at Bertram as he finished then shifted to his water horse form. She waved to the other two before mounting and holding on lightly to his mane. She was happy to have this stolen time with the male she loved.
~~~
Anna looked to him and smiled at the kiss, giving him a hug before the doors opened and they had to get moving again. "They are special moments and only for us." She said softly as they headed for the car
Bertram chopped along to the forest path. He was curious to see the cave to see if it held the same magical splendor as before Jackie moved it here. It was a different journey this time. They didn't need to be fearful at every sound.
~~~
Zypher nodded agreement as they walked. He unlocked the car remotely when they got there and opened the door. He said over the roof of the car before he got in. "Yes, those moments are the spice of life."

Slygotha floated lazily down the river, her big muscular tail steering her along. She kept her frills clamped against her body, looking like a grey black barked log floating down the river. Her eyes darted about, taking in everything as it appeared, without turning her head. She didn't want to break the illusion of the huge tree trunk floating easily down the river to those who would see it.
Nidhogg stayed underwater for the most part. She felt safer in her family's shadow, and could hold her breath for a good twenty minutes at a time.
Half a day passed in this way as the party made its way towards the city. Apprehension increased as the glow of the city echoed in the sky, the sun having set about an hour ago. The river became slower and wider, and small single hulled fishing canoes started sharing the river in increasing numbers. It became apparent that they would need to apply their disguises soon, as they were on the outskirts of the city.
Anubis barked to draw Slygotha's attention to a branch off from the main river. She could take it without drawing too much attention. The sudden appearance of a female and children would not go unnoticed.
Razeth looked to the fishing boats with worry. He remembered what the humans were capable of.

Valstarth held back with trepidation. He didn't like knowing they were going into the human world. Would he be good enough at playing his part? He could stomach failing his family, but they had to do this. They had to get their father and sisters back. He reminded himself sternly and it helped to give him resolve.

Xatia shifted to her pixie dragon and flew flew to land on the isl. She was curious about this place and waited to make sure no traps had been. Set to ensnare anyone. Pariah was devious that way. She looked to the two from time to time as she searched, listening to their conversation distantly.

Jackie held onto Bertram's mane, watching the forest as they rode through it together. It really was beautiful and serene, especially now that it held the small life forms to make it more real.

Anna nodded, giving him a smile before she got in and buckled. "I'm glad we can share those moments together."

Asclepius bobbed his head nervously, his dewlap and whiskers waving about. He looked about in admiration as they climbed the rocky, newly formed basalt formations, following Faye meekly. He was still scrambling in his mind for the right words to say once they reached the nest. His wings clamped tightly against his sides all the way to his tail, an unconscious effort to appear smaller even though he stood thirty feet tall at the shoulder and practically glowed as the sun reflected off his metallic scales and the embedded gemstones housed among them. He could feel her foreboding presence, the magic warding the broody dragon sends out naturally as a deterrent to other creatures. The aura of a broody felt oppressive and ominous, enough to send an unannounced visitor in another direction.

Slygotha slipped into the canal, feeling a bit claustrophobic in the shadowy, narrow tributary. There were small fishing boats tied to the shore, pulled up on the muddy banks to prevent their escape. The outskirts of the big city held the unfortunate poor who could not afford to live within it's main boundaries, and the banks were dotted with huts on stilts, wives hanging laundry from the windows, screeching children playing carelessly in the slums, and old men smoking their pipes quietly observing the world go by. The whole place smelled like fish, and was hot and humid.

Phoebe sensed the arrival of a group on the island... Her instincts caused her to arch a bit, her irises to widen, and her pulse to quicken slightly. She curled tightly around her eggs, snuffling them lovingly, without giving much thought to the strife it took to get there. After all, the eggs were the embodiment of innocence and perfection in her eyes, despite the unusual blue Sparks dancing within, and the occasional arc of lightning radiating from each to the other. The approaching party walked heavily. She could feel the footsteps climbing the hillside. She let out a warning rumble that vibrated low through the rocks, a seismic growl that caused loose stones to flee to the ocean.
