Jackie had stopped and looked back, watching the two. She shook her head and laughed then moved back to both of them, looking from one to the other "Alright then, come on. I have stew cooking at home"

Anna hugged him also, content to let Jason handle whatever was going on in the living room for now.

Ember smiled "I am the only blue phoenix I know of" She said then stood to shift, flying up a little to perch on the back of the couch so they could see her.

Estelle smiled as she looked to the door. We have to be secretive. As dragons it's hard to hide so we don't get killed." She said, her smile fading at the reminder. 

Zypher pulled back and said, "How long do you think we can hide out in here, before the miss us?" He inquired mischievously. He then moved over to his computer to check his messages. He brought up an encrypted email. He decoded it. He froze as he read it. It was from Ericsson. He was in an ICU room at Saint Mary's hospital. Markus had questioned him and had just about killed him. "I'm thinking I may need to call Ericsson off. It's getting to dangerous for him. What do you think Anna? I need an objective option, I'm to close to him, to be unbiased." He looked up at her.

Luce let out a breath. "You are the most beautifulest bird I have ever seen!" She said excitedly. She sat down to stroke her feathers gently.

Nashton grinned widely at his sister's excitement. He whispered to Taylor, "Do you want to help me cook dinner for everyone? " He lead the way to the kitchen.

Raine watched the large group with amazement. He looked at Astrid and chuckled softly. "They seem like good people." He said quietly.

Ashton saw the shadow cross Estelle's expression. She was curious, but knew better then to bring up old hurts. So she just nodded understanding, as she kept rubbing her head.

Luce grinned and nodded as she explained, " As did they with us. They love strays!" She laughed at Jason's term for them.

Nashton grinned widely at his sister's excitement. He whispered to Taylor, "Do you want to help me cook dinner for everyone? " He lead the way to the kitchen.

Nashton was busy cooking sir fry. Both a meat one and a vegetable one. Along with rice and fried noodles.

"Well..." Azure said with a sneaky smile, "It's a good thing they won't work." She looked down at her hands and played with them as she explained: "Mermaid have this little secret. When we get bit or stung, we build a resistance to it. Usually by the second time it happens, it doesn't affect us. This only works for small things, like a bit or tranquilized, it doesn't help us when we get injured." Azure looked up at Degan, proud of her secret.

Degan was impressed. "Now that is a neat trick to have. But they also have multiple tricks of their own. Electrified nets, that stun you. They are a particular favorite, that they love to use on me." He said bitterly.

Ember ruffled her feathers and looked around the room as they settled again. She was happy at the positive attention. She wasn't used to it.

Jason just watched them all, smiling at their happiness.

Eventually, Estelle closed her eyes again, falling asleep to the doctor's ministrations.

"Good," She smiled then followed Luce, shyly smiling at the other strangers.

The last thing Buchanan remembered was closing his eyes with pain throbbing throughout his head.

Sonora shifted. Her ears pinned back and her tail tucked itself between her legs as she pretended to bat her large paw at Keira.

Raine watched the large group with amazement. He looked at Astrid and chuckled softly. "They seem like good people." He said quietly.

The doctor came out into the waiting room. He walked over to the nurses desk and she pointed out Carrow and Aiden. Upon seeing that, Carrow grabbed Liana and walked over to him. "Yes?" She asked scared.

The doctor smiled reassuringly at her. "Your husband has suffered a terrible trauma. There was some bleeding on the brain and a multiple fracture of his femur. We got him fixed up and he is in stable condition. You can come in to be with him, but he may be out awhile. We had to sedate him pretty heavily." He explained as he went to lead the way to his recovery room. Carrow held her hand up to the doctor to wait a moment. She then turned to Aiden and said, "He's going to be fine! All because of you." She said through tears. She dug in her purse for her card and handed it to him. "Don't be a stranger, give me a call. I'm an artist, I'd like to give you a painting to show my gratitude. Please, I know he'd want to meet the man that saved his life."

Aiden took her card and nodded shyly. "Alright, but you don't have to give me anything. I told you, I did what anyone else would have done."

"On that, we will just have to disagree. You are a guardian angel. Thank you again." She said softly as she went to follow the doctor to Buchanan's recovery room.

Keira growled at Sonora. "Oh, you want to play cats and dogs, do you? Well, then bring it on!" She said as she shifted and crouched down playfully.

Zypher nodded as he glanced at the screen again. "We need to take the Uhaul back. You want to come with me as I followed Jason over there? After we drop it off, we'll swing by and talk to Ericsson at the hospital. Maybe he'll know if Markus has a snake, he had moved to Menagerie. It stands to reason, that if Markus used the prison as a holding facility. Then even Ericsson would know." He replied thinking out loud.

Luce caught sight of Jason. She got up and walked over to him. She smiled nicely at him as she reached into her pocket for the gift she had made him. She held her closed hand out to him and waited for him to hold his hand out for it. "I make you a little something. I hope you like it." She said softly.

Cadeon patted the couch for Astrid to set down. "Come on, I won't bite. Make yourselves at home." Nashton called from the kitchen, "Don't believe him, he lies! " Cadeon looked wide-eyed at Astrid and said, "It's a scandalous lie, I tell you. I was framed! I thought he was a big juicy steak. After all, I was dreaming." He said dramatically. Nashton belly laughed from the kitchen.

Ashton had her back against the wall and a warm Estelle's head in her lap. She too drifted off to sleep. The long days and sleepless nights, finally catching up to her.
