When they sat down, Aaran picked at his food,"Do generals just naturally hate me? Excluding you of course."

Taylor grinned,"I'll be doing this to you when we're old and gray. Food will always be food, why shouldn't Taylor always be Taylor?"

Tears welled up in Kristen's eyes. After all he had done for her, he assumed he was at fault. Now she felt really guilty about this. "Orson, after everything you know about me, my limits and weaknesses, what do you think about me? Maybe...compared to a shifter?" She wanted to look away but she didn't.
Enoch took a couple bits and chewed as he thought. When he swallowed, he said, " On most days, they are petty. Now you come in, out of nowhere with these amazing powers. Not to mention the fact that your not of fey decent. Then you add in king Racine showing you favor. That's a firestorm right there. But now you factor in the top female fey taking a shine to you..... Have you ever watched wolves son. Always, the new member starts at the bottom of the pack and works his way up. Well, fey are like them. We all have our places in this makeshift pack. But not you, you came in and got put right at the top. They left you alone because Racine decreed it. Elina was the last straw, so to speak. They all had in their minds, that one day, one of them would win her affections. With today's little show, they've just realized that's never going to happen. She publicly defended you. Something she has never done for anyone. Now do you understand the world of hurt you're in for. So get your game face on kid, you'll have to show them that you mean to fight them to earn your station, as well as to show them, you're wothy of the princess. Then you'll have their undying respect and loyalty."

Nashton mimicked Orson's twirl. However it was done very badly. "Oh, I look forward to growing old and gray with you. Especially if food is involved." He said with much enthusiasm.

Orson came over to her on the couch and knelt down in front of her. "After spending time in your body and not being able to shift, I realized something very profound. I realized how very strong and brave, you really are. Being a shifter didn't mean that I'm better then anyone, especially you. In fact, I could argue that it makes me weaker. When I couldn't shift, I almost panicked. I didn't know how to cope with being self reliant. You on the other hand, have always had to rely on just your mind, your skill and your fearless heart. Not some hideous animal that come out to fight the battles for you. I think the world of you, Kristen and I love you very much, with both my natures. Now please stop crying Kristen, love. For each tear hurts my heart." He said gently, as he took his thumb and wiped her cheek.
