Cadeon reluctantly let Ember go, but contented himself with holding her hand. "I'm loathe to leave this place. But we have a job to do and our little man is probably running Zypher and Navar ragged." He finished with humor.
~~~
Sandor nodded at the reminder. " I know, but it's good to have some private moments with your significant other. They don't seem like they get that very much. I'd rather not take the chance of intruding. Most things take, as long as they take. They know the dire circumstances. " He said with a shrug as he sat down.
~~~
Elina giggled softly, "No there are no sea monsters here. At least not the last time I was here." She said, as she sat up to get ready to go.
~~~
Falkirk smiled happily and said, "What does Queen Avalon think about all this?"
Jackdaw frowned and admitted, "We haven't told her yet. She's been busy with settling grievances and having a private meeting. Plus, I've been busy with practicing for my rite fight."
~~~
Avalon sighed softly and straightened. She was composing herself, in preparation of being the strong queen everyone believed her to be. " Whatever he is, I'll take it. He's one of the very few examples we have. At least until we find more. " She said quietly.
~~~
"Well, then I better get my sample quick. As far as what I'll do with it, it's none of you concern. But you still didn't answer my question. What is you other form, princess?" Markus asked with false civility.
Ember smiled and nodded, starting to lead the way back to the main room so they could meet up with the others once more.
Rana nodded and smiled "True, you are a good friend to them." She looked to Ember and Cadeon when they came inside.
~~~
Aaran chuckled and smiled, getting up to go with her through the mirror. "I haven't traveled like this before. Is it like the void portals?" He asked curiously.
~~~
Star nodded but frowned a little. "This is something she should know about, especially if you want your packmate to stand with us." She said, that would make sense to have him there for the fight.
~~~
(Aaran told Avalon, Sorcha didn't hear him though.)
~~~
"I am what you humans call a waterhorse. " Shaylee said with a frown at him. "My mate will be looking for me soon. You will not win this war Marcus." She said determinedly.
Cicero glanced to the sky and smiled. "I'm still not used to the pale blue and just the one sun. I must admit the colors are mesmerizing." He said as they walked.
"Yes, they are." Islanzadi agreed. "Have you ever watched the sun set in this realm?" She asked him curiously.
It filled him with a primal pleasure to see Slygotha's obvious delight. He settled down upon his belly to watch his mate eat the meal he'd provided for her. He then addressed her questions. "Alas, there was no mighty battle, for the the king opted for peace instead. These fairy creatures were a boon of our agreement. They lived in the vast forest there and at first, they were quite easy to catch. Though they soon showed their intellect, once they realize I was a threat and that I had acquired taste for them. So my conquest was limited to these creatures. That, and I still got to keep our bounty."
Slygotha was pleased. " It seems your Frightful Presence was enough to cow the enemy into running towards the bargaining table," she chuckled. " A battle won without a fight, is a truely glorious battle indeed, beloved. And these dainty morsels besides, I'd dare say it was overall a productive time away."
Gorged and sleepy from her meals, she nuzzled her mate lovingly, taking in his acrid, musky scent, before once more taking up her post coiled around their eggs. She gently bathed the eggs with another coat of acid, the air resonating with her contented humming.
Cadeon looked to Rana, Lyra and Sandor, as they came into the living room.
Sandor smiled at them, " Speak of the devil." He said with humor.
~~~
Elina took the moonstone from the top of the mirror and put it around her neck. "Yes, but it's more instantaneous. You think of a location and you step through and you're there." She explained.
~~~
Jackdaw nodded and stood up. "Yes, I know. It hasn't been from lack of trying, I assure you. I shall try again to speak with queen Avalon. I just wanted to share the good news with my friends. Wish me luck. " He said as he bowed to them, before heading for the door.
"But of course, Good luck, my friend!" Falkirk called after him.
~~~
(Facepalm, You're absolutely right. Thanks for catching that. :highfive: )
Avalon suddenly remembered, "Aaran is a god. So if a god can find a love match with a fey, that's pretty impressive in itself. " She told Sorcha.
~~~
Markus frowned as well, but for different reasons. "A waterhorse? I had one of those, until that rabble took him from me." He said absently. He then looked to Shaylee and smiled darkly, as he taunted, "If you mate comes, then I'll just catch him too."
(So sorry it took so long to answer. When I got home and had to mow. It was looking like a jungle out back. Lol! And to top it off, after I mowed, I got the added pleasure of racking up grass clippings. :rolleyes: I'm glad to be sitting in a chair that is not vibrating. )
Reaper returned her tender affections. Slygotha just knew how to make him feel triumphant in all his endeavors. He closed his eyes briefly to better enjoy her beautiful humming. But soon enough, he turned the watch over his family, to allow Slygotha to get some much needed rest, if she felt inclined.
Cicero shook his head and said, "We haven't been here long enough. Why, is it more spectacular? "
"Yes, it really is. Instead of the normal blue the entire sky is pink and orange." Islanzadi explained to him. "If you ever can, you really must see it."
(Oh wow, lots of fun today)
Ember smiled at the group then looked to Sandor. "And he doth appear" She said, finishing the quote then tilting her head "You were speaking of us?"
~~~
"Hm, then we shall have to rely on your thoughts to get there." Aaran said, reaching for her hand to be able to go through with her. "That sounds like a wonderful way to travel though."
~~~
"Good luck Jackdaw" Star said with a smile at the newly reinstated prince. She returned her attention to Falkirk once Jackdaw left then sighed and stood up, leaning over to kiss him gently then looking to her balcony "How much time do you think we will have before we must gather for the fight?"
~~~
Sorcha blinked, not expecting that answer. "And if the opposers had their way, such a match wouldn't be allowed, pus those two are in King Racine's court, which has to mean he doesn't go by that mandate as strictly either. WE have a better chance than I first thought."
~~~
"Yes, I know that. I saw that waterhorse and spoke to him." Shaylee said with a shake of her head "Why would you have all his memories suppressed like that? He couldn't have been very helpful to you to think he was the only one like himself and not magical."
