Anna nodded, listening to them as she ate her meal and thought about possible solutions "Maybe an invisibility spell for whoever goes in first?" She asked then shrugged. They did have magic this time around. "Either that or let Fay take over that room when she goes to remove those wall markings?" She was building on Navar's suggestion

Jason nodded and watched the road as they went to the rendezvous point. They would wait for Anna and Zypher once they arrived

Aurora blushed a little and nodded then shook her head "They will need everyone's strength for this fight, I will have to trust the wolves and Pyro to take care of them." She said and made her plate then looked to them again "I do thank you for the offer though." She said before heading for the door

Sorcha looked to Avalon, giving her friend a small smile as they came together then glancing around "What has happened?" She asked privately, not wanting anyone to overhear them if they were listening.

Shaylee looked to him again and frowned a little, raising up on one arm "I am going nowhere Anton, and I do care about you." She said with confusion in her tone. She reached out a hand to him "I will not leave you alone." Maybe she should try taking some energy from him, if only to combat the weakness she felt from the lack of water and the high iron around them? She didn't like that idea though, even if she was hurting from it. Electricity always took water away, and it hadn't been replenished yet, which was one reason she was hurting so soon.

Foneth sighed and moved to sit down nearby him, looking at the gazing pool. "This amulet has to open the portal to where King Racine is? You cannot change where it goes to?" She had to ask, it was strange magic to her. 


Pendragon chuckled softly and came forward "Change where you are looking with that spell, look outside the castle" He instructed Ender.

Estelle looked to him and tilted her head a little "Is this one of those I'm young so I shouldn't worry things?" She asked after a moment. "She is my mother, I worry for her health, but I know she will return to me one way or another."

"Roger, Echo-one out" Came the reply as the trucks sped down the road to the first town, slowing to assess the damage when they reached it and to see if the dragon or any other 'wanted' creatures were around before they would move closer to the swamps. 

Zypher nodded liking both solutions. "Well talk with Fay to see if she'll add that to her to do list." He said.

Maxton smiled pleasantly at Aeval, before he turned to following after Aurora. While they'd been talking, he'd poured Xavier a glass of juice. When he caught up with her, he asked politely, "I assume the invitation to accompany you still stands?"

Aeval watched then a moment before going back to sit down by Xatia again.

Avalon looked to Sorcha and Racine with unease. She then turned and started walking again while she answered her. "Vatgkan and his sympathizers have escaped. The certainties are still largely unknown. The images I was given are....horrific. it's as if the Sylphs, royals and lesser fae were liquefied. What could do this. I've never seen the like of this in all my years. I'm hoping you can get a feel for the type of magic that was used. "

Racine winced as he saw the images that Avalon was showed Sorcha and Bardou. He had to use his mate's mind as a conduit between them. "Ghastly" He replied.

"I believe so." Ender answered Foneth. He looked to the Pendragon and then looked back at the water to do as instructed. When the outskirts of the garden appeared, he asked, "Now what? All the magic I know is second hand and not practiced."

"You promise? " Anton said as he held out his hand to her.

"No, that was not my intent. You are queen of all dragons and not a mere child. Just as I cannot contemplate the sheer weight of that mental upon you shoulders. I apologize Estelle. I was trying to hide that I'm the one who is worried. " Pyro said with respect.

Chevez canvassed the swamp and finally found the remains of the capsized boat.

Aurora chuckled and looked to Maxton briefly "Of course. I do need someone to open doors for me." She said teasingly then chuckled softly. "I did say you could come if you wanted, and I meant that." She added "Even if we did get confused on who wanted to go where."

Sorcha frowned, unable or unwilling to hide how that made her feel, disgusted and angry that so much life had been so quickly ended. "I will do what I can to find the type of magic used so that we can defend against it."

"Take out that pendant and touch it to the image then open the portal, I can twist the magic to change where you exit to that place." Pendragon said, reaching out his wings and making the water rise to become a horizontal 'mirror' for them to be able to go through to reach the other side. "There were times we had to work together in ages long past. I have been thinking much on that time since you first came here."

Those bad guys don't have a chance" She was still young enough, even after all that had happened, that she believed 'good' had to win over 'evil' just because that was right.

When Echo-one team reached the swamp, they had to leave their vehicles outside and get ready to hike inside. "Come in Hawkeye, any sign?" The leader of the group asked, looking around as his men got ready. 

Nashton beamed proudly and dipped his in return. Glad that he'd done a good job.

Zypher also glanced around the room looking for the goddess.

"A service I would gladly assist you with. As for the confusion, I was equally confused myself." Maxton stated with a friendly smile, as he opened the apartment door for her.

As they descended the stairs to the dungeon, the smell was heavy and foul-smelling. "Oh!" Avalon said and gasped audibly.

Spyro muttered, "That's an understatement. "

Racine stepped off the last step to get a closed look. The substance that covered the floor and walls was hard to identify as once living. He brought his arm uo to cover his nose as he searched for answers.

Ender nodded understanding and took off the pendant and held it out to the watered image.

"I trust you Shaylee. You're a good friend." Anton said with renewed optimism.

Pyro listened to Estelle brave words and clasped her hand gently. He chose to believe only the positive like herself. "I believe you're right." He said with confidence.

"Roger that. I'm looking at the belly of the boat now. It's three clicks south form your current location." Chevez reported to Echo-one.

Aurora smiled at him for opening the door and walked through so they could go to Xavier. "Thank you." She said, deciding to let the other subject drop.

Sorcha covered her nose and looked around for signs of what magic had been used and if they were still close to this area. She didn't like any of this but was thorough in her search.

Pendragon did as he said, making the portal open to the gardens, wich they could see through the 'mirror' of the water.

"You should probably go first." Foneth said gently, looking to Ender but ready to follow him and her guard through once he went. They didn't want to cause a panic after all, if it could be helped.

Shaylee smiled at that, glad he saw her as a friend too. She closed her eyes again, resting. "Tell me about your 'free' memories" she asked after a moment.

Estelle smiled up at him and squeezed his hand then looked around. "What should we do while we wait?" They needed a distraction, this battle could take a while.

"Roger,headed in, no bogies?" He had to ask as his team started for the location down a trail they found.

Slygotha was becoming worried. Reaper should have been back by now with little Nidhogg. It should have been easy to catch up with a human blundering through the jungle. She wasn't one to rely on magic, but she did know a little. She weighed her options, deciding the time was ripe. Carefully poking her head out of the vine covered entrance, she surveyed the boggy fetid swamp surrounding the lair. She blanketed a layer of thick acid across the surface of the algae covered mud, causing it to die back and some of the plants to wilt. She started to recite her spell, gesturing upward with her claws, and from the muck sprang forth a poisonous vine, covering everywhere her breath had touched. It kept growing, voraciously consuming the acid slime and the fouled water, creating a tangled, thorny, throbbing mass of poisonous plants. She raised her claws up higher and higher, reaching a crecendo where the thick vines burst into bloom, each flower erupting with a shower of corrosive gas. The vines grew up and over the entrance, effectively sealing them in, and creating a thicket of deadly brambles covering the entire landing. The trees at the edge of the clearing withered as the poisonous plants clambered up any available surface seeking the sun. Satisfied with her preparations, Slygotha made a pool of acid like a moat just inside the entrance, harmless to herself and her kin, but deadly to those who fell into it.

Markus smirked at their success in subduing the wyrmling. "Wonderful, now hurry and get her in the void. We don't know how much time we have before her cries are answered. " He ordered.

Reaper looked up through the water at the noisemaker as it circled the warehouse. He growled angrily underwater and watched as tiny bubbles floated to the surface as he clawed at the silt at the bottom. 'Soon' he thought menacingly.
