One of the group stepped forward a little, though the vines were frightening. She knew the local dialects and could speak for the group "You are a black dragon of these woods, correct? You lost a young one recently?" She asked kindly "Please, stop with the tricks and come out to talk to us." She waited for a reaction, trying to play innocent and nice to the dragon inside.

" What sort of fool do you take me for? You can talk to me this way, or you can leave. This is MY domain. You have knowledge of my wyrmling, therefore you must have something to do with her disappearance. I might let you live if you produce her, but I am not naive. My mate should have been back already, but he is not. If you are strong enough to stall him, as would be the case being as you have a connection with my offspring, what makes you think I would bother to come out? Fools! Maggots! Idiots! Imbeciles!.." the thorny vine head continued mocking them while an edge of the thorny mass slowly thinned out and stretched off to the side, in an attempt to flank the group from the dark.

"No, no, you have it all wrong. We found the one who took the infant. We have her now, but she is hurt and at our clinic. Your mate is there with her now. We traced the trail here" She said quickly. "The male was not one to listen to reason, so we had to make him sleep. He is at our clinic as well, though the young one told us about a mother and siblings out here that would be worried about her." She said, trying to placate and cajole. "We wouldn't harm those who do not harm us."
The camp was circled by electric nets now, a defense from the bugs and creatures of the swamps and they had an anti-magic device humming softly and covering at the moment only the area the team stood in, though that could be widened as needed.
"Black dragons are well known to be the strongest of dragons, though there are none that remain on the part of the world we come from, we are glad to learn they have not become extinct here. " She said, playing to their vanity also.

"I do not know what this 'clinic' is. I haven't lived for 3000 years to be taken in by the likes of vermin attempting to infest my swamp. You smell mostly human, and humans are only good for eating."
The searching tendrils sizzled and recoiled as they probed the anti magic barrier in combination with the electric netting. One of the flowers caught the edge of the electric netting, throwing a spark. The poison gasses, similar to hydrogen sulfide, from the flower ignited, causing an explosion, knocking back the vine and causing a small chain reaction with several other flowers. That group of vines was burned, knocking back some of the vine heads with the concussion of the blast and causing Slygotha's brow to furrowed with frustration.

"A clinic is a healing place" She started only to jump and turn at the explosion. She looked back towards the cave and frowned "We are not like our ancestors and if you continue your attacks, we will be forced to retaliate." She warned as the others checked the nets to be certain they still worked and hadn't shorted out.

"You bring neither gold nor sacrifice. You offer me nothing but honeyed words and veiled threats," hissed another head, as the ones knocked back shook themselves and returned to facing the Intruders. The roots probed the ground, poking through the soil to search for a way through the anti magic barrier. There was no electricity underground so far as she could tell.

(Busy, busy, busy little bee, lol. Sorry)

"We bring no gold or sacrifice because we are not our ancestors and because we were unsure of what would be found out here at first." The female said, frowning at the darkness. "And I have only stated that we would protect ourselves from your attacks." There was no electricity underground but the anti magic made a full globe around the humans, protecting them that way.

Many of the more intelligent animals had given up direct attack, and were either biding time or had wandered back into the surrounding jungle. The crocodiles, however, simply waited motionless in the various deep parts around the swamp and the river edge. They never minded waiting. The bugs had wiped themselves out on the bug nets, but for the lingering buzzing of gnats and flies that never ceases in the deep jungle.
The anti magic shield repelled her vines successfully, and the shroud that destroyed the insect swarm caused the fumes emitted by her flowers to explode like little bombs. If she could keep them talking, thought Slygotha, then perhaps she could use this to her advantage...
"You obviously know nothing about me, and are simply oafs out here, looking for your own deaths. You capture my young and detain my mate, thus you are strong enough, whatever you say. I hold no trust for anything that isn't a black dragon, and even that is reserved for a select few. Nothing comes into my domain unless I or my mate invite it, and you, I am afraid, are not invited."
The flowers closest to the den started to weave their way away from her towards the edge of the landing where the Intruders had made their stand, creeping forward in the dark.

"We are holding them to heal them." She stated and glanced to the others. Where was Rouha? "We just wanted to talk to you if we could find you. To let you know they were not dead, that we are talking to the locals. Please come out, this is starting to hurt my throat to keep yelling at you."

Aurienne directed her gaze to her hands which laid nervously fidgeting in her lap. "Then you must know, what I am." She stated quietly in thought.

Kyth glanced to Aurienne and asked. " That you're a shifter? Yes, because you'd admitted as much. As far as which specific species, I can't get a good read for some reason."
