There should be a label on every feed bag that shows the percentage of protein and other nutrients.

I also feed a 20% protein flock raiser and offer oyster shell (cheap at the feed mill) mixed with dried and crushed chicken egg shells in a separate container for the layers.
The extra protein helps regrow feathers when needed and offsets the low protein content of the scratch grains I Iike to treat them with.

Okay - so it is medicated starter. I would do a search and read some of the threads here on BYC regarding eating eggs laid by birds on medicated feed - this is something that your family will need to decide for themselves, given the fact that you are a minor (I assume based on your previous post about your dad - if that is incorrect, my apologies) I don't feel comfortable saying "eat the eggs/don't eat the eggs" - but something I think would be best discussed and decided after bringing the information to your parents.

Different hens have different nesting styles, I have one right now who absolutely bulldozes around in the nest box, shoves all the hay into a big pile and then burrows into it all  so she is under it (not just the usual toss a couple pieces on my back while I'm sitting here most hens will do) - quite funny to watch, but makes an absolute mess of things and anything in the nest when she gets there (eggs already laid, golf balls, etc) gets buried for a treasure hunt later.

Yesterday the sane thing happened to me I have 6/11 laying and I went to gather eggs last night. Only 1

so I started to feel around and relized all 6 eggs were under 5-6 inches of hay and shavings . Why ? It's the first time this has ever happened! I do have 3 ready to lay any minute could it be them ? Maybe confused on what they need to do? It was like a scary treasure hunt all the hay from under the roost had been pushed into laying boxes. I just added shavings so it was soft. Any thoughts ? Ps I do use fake eggs and have never had a problem except for 1 hen who rolled her egg all around the coop After she laid in box. It would be on the floor of the a frame coop some times. Always wondered how it didn't break and thank goodness it didn't . I. Don't need egg eaters.
