Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone knows what kind of style hillbilly music is called?

I'm not winding you up, I really do love it when I hear it on TV and I thought I could download a few soundtracks to listen to, but I don't know what to look for!

It's a kind of fast paced country music with an instrument that sounds like a banjo...

And it's usually played when they are trying to show a hillbilly way of life out in the country, like on dukes of hazzard...

Please help!!!

Bluegrass and Appalachain Folk music can be the same things but they are also very different when you get deep in the mountains where people hold on to deep Irish/Scottish heritage and music.

Yes that's it!!!

Thank you sooo much!! - I'm gonna get me some bluegrass music!! Yee-ha!!

Also for anyone interested I have copied a couple of album links below (I have not downloaded these yet, so I don't know how good/relevant they are, but I will be trying them tomorow, it's almost 23:30 here in the UK so time for bed!):

Some call it old people music, but to me it's the best thing around. I have a friend who has played an sang with people like Rhonda Vincent, Marty Raybon, and the group 3rd time out. Hillbilly, bluegrass, what ever you call it, it can be a lot of fun. I'm a hillbilly through and through.
