I was interested in having a community aviary of ordimental pheasants and maybe mandarin ducks. My two favorite pheasants are the himalayan monal and the red golden pheasant. I know the golden pheasant are a peaceful species but i have no idea how the himilayan monal will react, what do you guys think?

You can run pen with all male pheasant breeds as long as there are no hens around. But if you do they all need to be put in the pen at the same time. You can not have 3 or 4birds in there and then decide to add 2 or 3 more.An established pen will kill any intruders. And for safety reasons keep an eye out for an aggressive bird and if you have one find him a new home. But to answer your question, yes it can be done. But just like humans you can get an aggressive bird in any breed.Goldens are usually tame and impeyans can be tamed with lots of work and handfed treats.
