My hens want to come in the house really bad, but my husband says Absolutely NOT because of the poo. So if he catches one trying to come in, he'll charge at her, to scare her back out. Usually they turn tail and run away as fast as they can. Well, the other day my toddler left the door open as we were coming back in. I said, "Son, can you please shut that door?" but he didn't hear me, so I went to do it myself. I saw all three of my hens inching their way in the door, looking around nervously like, "Is he here?" Just to see if they'd actually come in and socialize, I left them alone. They followed me into the living room, very quietly, going very slowly. I thought, "Surely they are not keeping an eye out for my husband!" but they were. He didn't know they were ever in the house. All it took was him breaking the silence, calling from the bedroom, "Honey, where is that new outfit I had laid out for church?" and those birds were OUTTA THERE! Scattered! You would have thought he was hot on their heels, the way those birds half ran, half flew out of the house.
