Central Florida here. Well, I never thought we would be the proud parents of chickens considering our home is quite full with 5 children, including two sets of twins. We have a (territorial) dog (Shipoo), 2 cats (a part Siamese but thinks she's a Great Dane and an orange Tabby), a Koi pond (Last Summer's family addition) and a parakeet! Our babies were born on October 8th. We have 6, including what we were told were 2 Ameraucanas, 2 RIR's, and two puffy butted BO. They each have their own personalities already. We're in the process of building our coop, keeping in mind we may end up enlarging. I think it has turned out to be one of the best family projects we've started!
