Hi everyone! I’m Kat! I knew I was getting chicks this year, but things changed when a friend relocated and needs to rehome a small flock. So…now I have 5 total; 2 RIR, 1 black copper maran, 1 EE, and 1 RIR roo. I really did not want a roo, but this one is a good egg, pun intended.

I am obsessed with my dogs, collect plants, and work in finance (previous vet tech, but exited that career at the start of the pandemic).

I discovered BYC several months ago and have used it for consistent research prior to taken on this flock! Loads of great info!

Hi! I'm Caroline! I recently joined BYC too! I currently have 22 chickens and more on the way! Of those 22, I have 1 purebred Orpington, the mother of 4 Orpington/Rhode Island Red mixes, 2 silver laced wyandottes, 1 cuckoo maran, 3 gold sex links, 1 Isa Brown, 2 black sex links, 2 silkies( one hen the other my rooster), and I have six, 3 month old silkie chicks. I absolutely love chickens! Welcome to Byc!
