Welcome to BYC. A veterinarian is definitely a consideration. If that is out of the question, keep him in a quiet spot and make sure that flies do not have access to any wounds.

Big Mo saw the vet yesterday. He has a bite/tear on his shoulder, nickel size. He got 2 antibiotic shots and meloxicam. I tube fed him and this afternoon he seems stronger.

Most important - make sure flies cannot get to his wounds as sourland mentioned. Fly strike is when they lay eggs in the wound and the resulting maggots destroy fresh tissue along with the rotting tissue.
