It's a gorgeous day out there today, but what a muddy mess! With all the time I've been spending indoors, I've been knocking out whatever I could do in here. I've done taxes for quite a few people and then have gone into browsing this site a TON, especially the coops! I've been looking into the Woods' coop design, and boy do I wish I had the room for that, even the smaller version. I just don't, and I know for a fact I'm not getting anymore than the 3 I have coming. I can't allow the Chicken Math to influence my decision making here, besides the sizing for what I have arriving. I'm now thinking I should make the run 5'WX6'L instead of the 4'WX6'L, not including the 3'LX4'W area under the coop. I'd gain another 6sq ft and I don't think it would change my whole dynamic too much or increase the expense by much since it is only the run. 3'Lx4'Wx3'+H (at the peak) should be enough for the 3 hens in the coop, right?

My other plan is to keep the run & coop as two pieces but have hasps to keep them ajoined while in use. The 2 piece design should be able to allow me to move it around the yard, in case I want to give the girls a different location or if I'm just not happy with how it's all laid out. I like options. I posted a basic blueprint or plan of what I'll be doing on the PA thread. Of course adjustments or modifications will be made along the way, so nothing is 100% yet.
