Hold my hand - real basic coop plans!

lol! True! Sometimes a task is overwhelming until you break it down... :)

have been so busy with new chicks!!! had to hurry and make a brooder pen, nest boxes for 2 more hens and brooder space for their chicks and an out door play pen for new purchase (couldnt resist)
absolutely have the nesting box open outside,so often i wish for that, maybe later this summer, since everyone sitting on the eggs now i dont have many to collect right now.
you can put the boxes wherever you want, as long asthe openingis large enough for the hen,and she can easily hop up to it, she will find it. they do love privacy from eyes and traffic...some say light too, but mine like the highest shelf wherethey get lit and can actually survey the coop.my boxes are just that,2x4 lumber crewed together, set on plywood squar, screwed to the bottom, i added sidesabout 8 inches high from left over t111. it too thin to make a comfortableroost, and its light enough for me to move, hen eggs and all, into a secure pen. its not real fancy and i am not a carpenter yet, haha,my motto is, it's good enough for a chicken coop. my pop out door is about 12x12 or 5, and they hop out and onto a stump 12 inch hop, the n 20 inche to the ground. the ground slopes so much and most fly out. i like it higher off the ground, fewer andont worry bout skills, just safety, and dont nail it, use a screw gunimal s can get into oh, and i can clean the nest box easy..another thing i use is the bottom of a planter as a liner...cheap and easy to clean.
