Holding the chickies!

My chicks are two weeks old today, and I finally got to spend some quality time with them during my sons' naptime. Fed them from my hand, picked up each one... I think they like me. Just wanted to share with people who understand, since my Facebook friends are starting (?) to find me a bit odd...

We have six chicks...4 are older than the other 2. We try to hold each one everyday and when we do, we keep repeating their name. They all are pretty calm now. Last night we held a tomato in our hand and let them nibble all they wanted. Most liked the seeds and juice the best. They were so cute. I will say that they REALLY like boiled eggs the best

Still very suspicious of treats; they haven't figured out the good stuff yet. That's yogurt on my fingers...

I have 2 that are 4 weeks old and 6 that are3 weeks. None of them are interesting in treats at all. Tried several different things and no takers so far.

Our local feed store sells the nipples but I'm not sure how to make a smaller one for this stage. (mine are 1.5 weeks old)

Yes! I followed the instructions that came with the nipples. Drilled a 11/32" hole in the bottom of an old Nalgene bottle we had sitting around (it's either my mom's or my brother's that was left here years ago and never claimed), and pushed the nipple in. Works great!

The nipples came in a package of 10; once we get the big coop built, I'm going to use them to make a bigger waterer.
