So I have been collecting about 5 eggs daily and I have found 2 in the past week that have a small hole (beak sized) in the top. The egg is not broken, the inside of the egg is still intact. Does anyone know what this is? Do I have a potential egg eater on my hands? It is only one hen that does this. The reason I know this is because I have one hen who loves to lay on a window sill in my barn. It is not every egg she lays. I collected two from her "nest" (bare rock) this morning and only one had the hole. I don't think it is cracking when she lays it because the hole is directly on top like she put her beak in it. Ok, I'm rambling... I'll let you decide!
Thanks a bunch!
