Some just leave them up year round so it's less work? Especially those ice cycle things along the roof lines.

I like to put light strings on my deck railings, leave them on after xmas til spring…or until the squirrels short them out..they actually eat the light bulbs

Yea, a lot of people around here leave theirs up year around, but a couple of our neighbors put up huge displays every year all of their porch and lawn. seems like they put them up earlier and earlier every year.
