Holiday Wall Hanging Block Swap

Scrambled, maybe that's where all your eggs are going. I bet you have many many snakes just hanging around watching you.

OH did I say that.

Funny story, I wish I was there to watch you.

Be careful Gin you may find a snake in your fat quarters!!

SE, I thought you were tough not a woosie city girl!

I used to work for the Nat. Park Service and had to fetch the rattlesnakes off the trail at Montezuma's Castle and Well. It get's easier after you get past the fear of the first one. Although Timber Rattlers seemed to be the worst.

I have laughed so hard over that!!! Yes, I admit it, I am a woosie city girl!!! lol!!!!!

I sure was happy to not see any of it's relatives today and funny you mention the number of eggs Gin, my son said the same thing yesterday..and that headless snake is still in the back of his pick up, he has shown it to everyone!!!

SE, My husband says EVERY snake is POISONOUS because he doesn't like snakes. He comes to get me when he finds one. My mom was a science teacher so we grew up with snakes and spiders in the house.
BUT when there is a snake in the hen house...I agree with my hubby...a dead snake is better than finding one in the nest box any time. We had to kill one last week and it had the most atrocious odor...like a skunk. Limb loppers are my tool of choice.

I found the cutest Christmas striped fabric to put Rudolph on for the swap and some neat red faceted glittery buttons for the nose...a little more rearranging and the sewing room will be ready for a sew-a-thon!!

If my DH was in front of me and he saw a snake he would knock me over trying to get away. He ran over one on the lawnmower and picked his legs up in the air. It was the funniest thing seeing a 260pd man with his feet up trying not to wreak the mower.

I almost wet my pants. He ran for the hills when I picked it up.

I am in the country and I have had to remove many yellow and grey rat snakes from my nest boxes. Sometimes they bite but they can't really hurt you. One time one swallowed one of my young chickens, it was about six weeks old. That snake was so full of chicken it couldn't get out of the chicken house 'cause it was so much bigger going out than coming in. It was very easy to catch though because it was full of little chicken. My DH takes them about 3 miles away from the house and lets them go.

Sorry your experience was so traumatic, SE. When you're not used to them they can scare you.

I can't believe in all the years we've lived here we've never had one. I am happy he ate the rats, although I thought the barn owl wa doing that but this snake might have been living in the dirt under my shed. I saw him still in the back of my son's truck yesterday, I told him to get rid of it before it started to smell, I'll look when I go to work but regardless, dead or alive..I ain't touchin it!!! I agree with the hubby Gin!!!! That is hilarious!!! Once, years ago, I went through Louisiana in route through the state and crossed a low bridge, an ole timey oe without all the big guardrails and the water was about 5 inches or so over the road and bridge and it was MOVING!! Full of black colored wiggly snakes and I did the same thing, raised my feet in the car off the floor, lol!! I totally understand that feeling!! Anyone that has any indoctrination with religion is gonna be a bit leary of a snake I think, besides, they are creepy as heck!! Hey...my blocks will be mailed out today Welman, hope you like them and thanks for running this swap! I think I like CW's idea of making individual things like potholders...with these small blocks, I doubt I'll do a lap quilt with all the embellishments on the blocks and a wall hanging is not really intersting to me so maybe potholders.

Welman, Cedar deserves a good laugh over this...I sent your blocks today with NO SASE or postage...I sealed it up in line and totally forgot..I had threee people in front of me and I was getting homicdal over that aggravating 5 minute dissertation the post office gives every single person on every single package about fragile, liquid or perishable crap in the mail and even if you say mail the cheapest way they have to recite twelve pay options, try to sell you "sturdy" packages and postage and overnight/delivery options..geez I hate going there..anyway, I forgot but since I have about 6 months time to spare, lol!! I'll get it to you. Hope you like my Santa's.
