Holy cow...Central Kentucky just got HAMMERED.

We had some rain but it was not to the point of flooding. We could use more. With all the reds and yellows on the radars, sometimes they just passed on by.

I saw the flooding scenes on CNN and its nasty looking!

Made it home.. Even had power restored by the time I got there.

We took a drive into the nearest little town to us to rubberneck at the damage... The bulk of the the carnage seemed to be concentrated in one area..

Grocery store had its roof partially ripped off.. The elementary school next door had some debris laying in the grass, though I wasn't entirely sure where it came from...looked like some flashing off the school, though.

We drove into a teeny tiny little neighborhood (about 10 new houses) back behind the grocery store and there were several uprooted trees.. They were pushed over east to west, and the roof of the store was laying in the parking lot to the west of the store.

Weird, because the storm blew in NW to SE..

There were "reports of funnel clouds" which there almost always are when a big storm rolls through...yet they're rarely ever confirmed to be tornadoes.

I'm no weatherman, but I'm guessing it was a big downburst with a column of rain..

Either way.. Nobody was hurt, that I know of.

My daughter lives in Smiths Grove....talked to her before the storm, havent heard from her this morning....I guess they made it through!
Glad to hear everyone in your area is ok!

We didnt get it as bad as we have other time at my house, but when I left UK, downtown Lexington had some flooding and traffic creeped on US25 trying to get back to Georgetown. There was water covering the road a few times and branches down.
