holy cow!! people on ebay will pay anything!!

I just posted five of mine on the Crazy 24 hour auction thread. I am sure they will not bring crazy money like on ebay... maybe this is your chance to see what they taste like!

C'mon, GO for it! I need more money for the lavender orp eggs!

At first glance the eggs seem expensive, but once put into perspective- they aren't really.
My husband and I splurged and went out to eat at a seafood restaurant. Our bill was 98.00- that was for two of us, one meal. Had we gone to the movies afterward, that would have been another fifty dollars, easily.
A game for my son's PSP costs over fifty dollars- for one game.

So, I guess it all comes down to if someone wants something enough, they will pay what seems reasonable to them. If we can blow money on one-time items, getting eggs seems better than that- at least they have the potential to reproduce.

You're so right! I used to show harlequin Great Danes and poultry so far has been a much more reasonable hobby for me in comparison...but I don't show poultry so maybe that can get up there, too.
My biggest show dog expense ever was a $2500 dog, $500 to ship him (in 1988!) and $95,000 when he bit somebody.

Luckily the $95K was covered on my home owners policy.

I was thinking the same thing! I'm hungry though, and those chocolate eggs look tasty!

Yes we eat Marans eggs all the time as well as we boil them back for the birds. We also eat the Marans roosters too.

Thanks Sharon!
That's what I was hoping to hear. I think they would be beautiful eating eggs. Do you sell them for human consumption? I bet folks would love eggs that dark.
We eat our extra roosters, too.
