I JUST GOT THE BIGGEST EGG YET! well yesterday actually. I had to run it over to the neighbours to weigh it. They do a lot of E-bay stuff so they have an accurate postal scale.
4.2 oz!!!!!

At over 4 oz, there are only three answers:
1. A Pekin - no problem...

2. Not really a duck, a goose.

3. Any thing else but she can't walk normally any more...

Just wanted to share some photos of the absolutely astonishing size egg that my Pekin laid this morning. Her normal is between 2.30oz - 2.50oz. Talk about a JUMBO egg! My Khaki Campbell also laid one significantly larger too! Her normal is between 2.10oz - 2.25oz and she laid a 2.56oz this morning! They must've had wonderful happy days yesterday!

I got one like that the other day as well! Just one so far, and the hens have been laying since labor day. Green too, I think it was from my chocolate runner.

Still learning to use the forum on my phone. I am pretty sure it was the Pekin. I didn't take a pic of it on the scale. Didn't think to. But here is a pic of it on the counter.

full disclosure, the small egg next to it is a smallish duck egg I got the day before. So it's about chicken size.

I think it was the Pekin.....
She may be a goose in incognito, she honks like one.
I am treating 2 Pekins and one golden for a limping right now.......LOL
It was so freakin huge. I should not have eaten it this morning, I should have gotten pics of it on the scale. Somedays im not so bright.

Edited because I cant seem to proofread today. LOL

My Pekin used to honk too.

No worries, that won't be the last 4+ ouncer you see. For ours 3.5oz was a minimum and she put out 4+ ouncers at least weekly once she got going. Nothing beats Pekin eggs over easy with Rye Toast. Now there's a dunkin' yolk.

Hazel laid a massive egg too! I was hoping one of my ganders was actually a goose and laid it, but no such luck... lol
