Home and Barn Basics..

I guess I am not a wuss after all.

I canceled my order to Home and Barn Basics for the 1588 Genesis, and I am going to get it somewhere else.

More than a week is too long to wait before something is even shipped.

Kinda funny...back in January, when I ordered from HABB they said the same thing about their workers....that they were restructuring. I had waited 10+ days for a Hova Bator that I had ordered and paid extra for express shipping....canceled it and ordered from Cutlers. I received my order pronto, and it was way CHEAPER!!!!

how did you guys even get in touch with them to cancel the order? I would cancel if I just could get someone to answer the phones there! lol

When I first read IggiMom's post, I thought I wrote it!!

I also ordered last week (although it was a Wednesday) and sent an email about an approx. shipping date with no response. But today, I got an email telling me to expect it in 7-10 days. Phew! I have eggs being shipped from 2 different places, and picking some up an hour away in exactly that time frame!

Danny, I ordered from them because the price was cheaper. I can never pass up a bargain!

I paid $128.95, which included the shipping. Without the turner, I'm going to use my LG turner in it.

I was tempted by the Brinsea too. But now I'm glad I went with the Hovabator, because I'll probably have over 30 eggs to hatch!

...and just in case it doesn't get here, I have my old, finicky, LG at the ready.

I ordered from them because their price was decent and they were a BYC sponsor.
I cancelled my order because they weren't able to provide the product I needed within the time frame indicated.
I don't know that they are any better or worse than any other company. The lady on the phone was very nice and helpful. It took a lot of effort on my part to get through to a real person though. There is no customer support number on the website. I emailed the order confirmation email address and they sent me an office number (not a 1-800 number).
When I do get ready to buy a 1588 it is unlikely I will purchase it from them.

I also ordered from them because they were a BYC sponsor. After this latest round, though, I will look elsewhere when I finally kick the cooler and upgrade to a hova-bator for my hatcher (hopefully sooner than later).

Hey, Simplyscrambled--I never thought about using my LG turner in it! I didn't know you could! My goodness, you have saved me some money (a good thing).

Thanks.
