"Yes, I'm new here." said Eva. "A nurse hasn't been assigned to me yet... Is the girl ok?"
(cutiechook1 has left me hanging for 2.5 days now. May I come out and play?)"I'm not sure. Her hand looked pretty bad. It made me sick to my stomach to watch, and I ran back here and threw up." Emily said.
(Sure.)(cutiechook1 has left me hanging for 2.5 days now. May I come out and play?)
Accepted!
It took me so long to read through all of that, but it was like reading a book. I completely lost it when the nurse apparently had a fight with her goldfish.

)(You are a great writer!)Emily felt better after her nap and looked at the time. An hour had passed. "I wonder why nurse Janette hasn't been here yet. Is she still with Mia?" Emily thought to herself. She decided to see if she was still at the nurses station, but when she got there it was empty. Emily walked back down the hall toward the lobby and main entrance and looked out the window. Leaves littered the ground and fell lazily from the trees. Fall had arrived- her favorite season. She recalled memories of crisp morning air, hot apple cider, and her favorite fuzzy green sweater. "I wish I could go out just for a few minutes and get some fresh air" Emily thought. She looked around to make sure she was alone, and she pulled the handle on the door to the outside. Locked. Emily sighed. "Of course it would be locked." Emily muttered to herself, feeling foolish for her feeble hopes. She looked down at the handle and noticed a black shiny square above it. Letters engraved into the surface by the manufacturer read Safelock Technology. Safelock. Where had she read that before? "OH!!" Emily exclaimed out loud. She walked back to her room quickly, but not too quickly as to draw attention to herself. She saw no one on the way to her room and ducked inside, pulling the door shut behind her. Franticly, Emily went to the desk and got down on the floor under it. She rolled to her back and looked up for the item she had hidden there. She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw it still tucked safely in the joint between the back of the desk and the leg. She plucked the white plastic rectangle from it's hiding spot with trembling hands, and turned it over. Safelock Technology was stamped on the card in black, with a brass looking square beneath it. Emily rose from the floor and tucked the keycard into the right front pocket of her jeans. She paced the room thinking. Will this open the main door, or is it for something else? I shouldn't try it now with so many staff members still awake. Nurse Janette could come by any second now. I should just stay here and wait. Emily stopped pacing and retrieved the book from the desk and sat down on her bed to read. She had trouble focusing and had to reread the same paragraph twice before she understood what she was reading. She looked at the clock. She had been reading for only 5 minutes. "Gah!" Emily said, as she put the book down. She couldn't concentrate on the book right now. She stood up, patted her pocket to make sure the card was still safely inside and went to the cafeteria to get a cup of tea to soothe her nerves. She saw Mia being led away by nurse Janette, and saw the guard that had brought her to her new room sitting at a corner table sipping his coffee. Emily poured herself a mug of hot water and took a packet of tea from the basket. She opened the wrapper and pulled out the teabag. She dunked it in her mug and sat at the table nearest the door. She looked over her shoulder at the guard, hoping he would leave when his coffee was gone. That's all she needed was a guard finding out she had a key card in her pocket.
Mia stood when she heard Janette's voice, knowing that she was probably going to lead her somewhere. After Janette had seen to it that Amica was settled in her room resting, she quietly closed the door and left to go find Mia.
She found Mia where she had left her in the cafeteria. "Hi again," Janette smiled at Nathan. "Can I borrow Mia for a few minutes?" She asked.
