I had to make dog treats for a fundraiser my rescue was at this weekend.

I've never made dog treats before, and I have to say they were a total success! My dogs LOVE them so I figured I would share the recipe here.

Baking time is kind of long as I prefer to dry them out so they last longer.

preheat oven to 350.

1 large can of salmon
4 eggs with shells
2 cups of whole wheat flour
1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese
1/3 cup of garlic powder
1 handful baby spinach that I chopped up in a food processor

I dumped everything in a large mixing bowl. Crunch up the egg shells. Mix in the flour a little at a time so it's mixed in well.

Then I used a pyrex baking dish. I sprayed it with olive oil Pam. But I'm sure any kind would do to keep it from sticking.

Bake for half an hour.

After that I pulled it out and laid it on a large cookie sheet.
I reduced the temp and baked it for another half hour.
After that I pulled them out, flipped it over, and cut it into little squares using a pizza cutter. And I do mean little squares.

I spread them out on the cookie sheet, and baked for another 20 minutes.

When they are done they should be really crunchy.
My dogs LOVE them. Most other dogs that tried them loved them too.

Gosh - that almost sounds good enough for human consumption!!!
