home made incubator question

Okies - don't see it marked on the themostat any where and already threw out the package last week - will go to Menards and check the package.

I was having the same problem, just upped the watt bulb. I placed my bulb up top so that may be my problem

I had a dimmer switch but the summer weather was just making it too difficult

I have a 60 watt bulb in mine and it says right at 100 most of the time.

See that's my problem - anything above 25 won't even come on.

Hmm, dh is tending to agree with RR that your thermostat might be the wrong voltage. Something about it pulling too much energy and not having enough left to light up the higher watt bulb.

You got me... good luck. I just put it together and have dh fix when things don't work

Okies the package wasn't marked either whether or not it is 240 or 120 but the guy there is pretty sure all their thermostats are 240 since they only sell 240 water heaters. He seemed to know something or was a good BSer. So if it is 240 - then it won't work? GRRR

You have to put a space before the smiley.

Guess I will head to Lowes tomarrow morning - I like Lowes but there is only one in "town" and it is clear across town.

(I live in Des Moines, Iowa and regardless of our "hick" image - we are not a town and we don't live in corn fields
