The temp may stay stable where you are taking your reading, but across the eggs will be cooler due to the fan pulling in cool air. I think you did a fine job!!! My suggestions...

1. Put some heavy duty foil between the light and your grill topper. If not the eggs directly close to the light will be warmer.
2. Unless you want to constantally dink around with that light dimmer get a cheep water heater thermostat that will go to 99 degrees. Follow the instructions here on a modification for makeing it work with a lower temp swing. Do the bottom modification not the top.

3. move the fan inside the lid. Put it on stand offs and give it about an inch or two between the lid and the fan. Blow the fan up so that it will be forcing the warm air around and not directly down on the eggs. Do not make any holes except the screw holes for the fan.
4. cover the hole the fan was in, and about half of the vent holes. I would use duct tape. Remove tape over holes to control humidity.
