Homemade incubator temperature question.

Destin,

Gblnfvr said it all:) The metal side has to be toward the bulb that is the biggest flaw in your design. The holes make it more accurate as well.

I rearranged everything and drilled additional holes in thermostat. It is keeping a more steady temp but is it normal for light bulb to shut on and off frequently? I just don't want to have it wrong and have a fire.

OK thanks still gotta get it at 99.5. I turned it one way and 103. turned it other way and 97. So gotta find inbetween spot. But temps staying regular now. Thanks everyone!!

Destin,

It does take some time to get the temp zeroed in. The bulbs do cycle on and off frequently. On mine I would say they cycle once per minute or so. My first batch of 120 eggs goes in to lockdown today........I feel like a kid at Christmas:)

WillsC: Oh I know what you mean, I sit and stare into the bator when their in lockdown, I might miss them moving.

Good Luck!!
