Homemade Naan - Indian Cucumber/Onion Salad

Looks like an awesome recipe. I like to make ethnic foods, I adore indian food and will try this in the near future.
BTW, have you ever tried some sumac and sesame on top of a nan type of bread?

we eat in Indian restaurants all the time, but they are Idaho Indian restaurants lol. So no, I have not had sumac and/or sesame on my nan. Only plain, garlic & coconut. But I will look for it at the Indian grocery and give it a whirl!

Look for zaatar - that is the sumac spice blend often found on naan or pita.

Love it! We can buy Naan at the indian bakery here (there is a large population of Indian immigrants in Fremont....yea!) But nothing beats fresh homemade bread smells in the kitchen! And homemade is usually less money, too.

I lived in Mountain View for 15 years, there was a great place on Castro Street in Mountain View, also one on El Camino - my best friend Ken lives in Fremont and there are some very good Indian buffet places there, a couple I remember going to on Fremont Blvd. Oh that strikes a homesick cord in me. I also lived in Pacifica before I moved here in '07 and I worked at Fujitsu off of Lawrence Blvd in Santa Clara and a two minute walk from the office would have me sitting at a tremendous Indian buffet. The buffet is the way to go, usually about $10.00 for dinner, you'll get everything you can imagine. I really liked the place near my office, the bits of whole spices in the curry sauces made it very interesting.
