Homemade nesting boxes?

one of the niftiest nesting boxes I've seen, was a old "entertainment center" .. the kind that stores books as well as electronic gizmos ... backed up against the solid wall of the coop ... with a "plate rail" attached to the front of the
divided shelf ... this one was scarred on the outside, was just dumped by the side of the road ... I see them on Freecycle all the time

come to think of it, an old bookcase style headboard would work well too, I see those at thrift stores for $5

I've used everything, broken washing-up bowls, old used empty plastic paint buckets on their side, broken seed trays, broken plastic basket used for shopping, cardboard boxes, they are temporary of course, old drawers that were being thrown away, anything that shape and broken, got into the Coop. I was at the Fruit and Veg Market today, I noticed they had all these fruit trays the Market Stall Holders get their fruit in, just thrown away in the municipal bin, just one load of them would do the average person keeping chickens. I am going to try a very large broken flower pot I had a standard Basil tree in for the next experiment. Plastic is the best, as it is so easy to clean.
