I get to say, "I told you so

I'm telling you honestly, in 12 years of marriage, I've NEVER seen my husband eat more than a spoonful or two of yogurt, so this was significant.

When he was leaving for work, his parting shot was, See? I *told* you we needed a couple milk goats.

Anyway, thanks again-

Well, we got to get the building and the pasture up first. His friend at work has Toggenburgs (sp?) and is willing to give us a deal on 2 does in the Fall, and will loan us a male for freshening - how cool is that? She says they're pretty good milkers.

We've got what we need for the pasture. I've been picking up the electric wire on the sly from TSC for about 3 months, LOL. I have the lumber for the framing of the "goat shed" but need the plywood, which just isn't in the budget quite yet.

I did find out that the 50 lb. bag of goat feed at our feed store is $10.59 when I went today...not bad at all. Plus, I have an old school friend who farms and will deliver us hay (alfalfa??) at $2.00 a bale, IF we order over 25 bales, so it's all working out.

You guys are a serious bunch of enablers.

Ah - MDF I've heard of.

I'll be out with the truck on Friday for my bi-monthly shopping trip, I'll just have to stop at Lowe's first and see what I can figure out.

I actually talked to the woman tonight about her goats. She says they're good-sized Toggenburg (sp??) does, and are gentle milkers. I told her about the homemade yogurt, and she was like, you can make homemade yogurt? Sheesh, doesn't EVERYONE know by now?

Wonder what exactly she does with all her milk.

Some people never use their milk for anything but milk and there are some that milk the goats and feed it all to other animals. How sad is that? LOL
