Hi all. I was wondering if I could gain some exciting knowledge on how to treat and generally take care of my flock without the use of detergents, antibiotics, vaccinations and the whole lot.
For instance as soon as it warms up I'd like to give my coop a really great cleaning after such a terrible long terribly terrible cold winter. Did I mention it was terribly long and cold?
Topics of interest / prep for future issues would be, but not limited to:
Disinfecting
Lice
Mites
Coccidiosis
Internal / external parasites in general
Healing wounds
Any other things you've discovered that are natural and work for your flock. I came across a great recipe for rickets and general ill health that is wonderful and am always up for learning more!
p.s. I currently have 8 laying hens obtained at 18 weeks old (one year in) and am venturing into 20 some chicks this spring. I would like them to not have been treated for anything when I get them but also want to be prepared if I can should something arise.
TIA
