I have wanted goats for a long time, but I'm holding off. I'm afraid that if I get them and don't like the milk that it would be a waste. But I don't know anyone who has goats so I can't try any.

Isn't that silly?

I also don't really know much about goats. Guess when I get serious I'll start researching.

Do you have any large supermarkets with an organic section or organic food store anywhere near you? I got organic goat's milk and goat cheese from a local supermarket. I, too, want to get a few goats at some point, but I can't now. They need to be milked twice a day about 12 hours apart, and since I drive a school bus it would be difficult during this time of year since I leave for work in the dark and come home in the dark, so it would be a real chore to do the milking. I'll probably have to wait a few years until I retire.

That's not silly! I wouldn't want to go through all the time & effort to get something set up just to find out you don't like it. You could always make goat cheese (pretty easy!) and yogurt if you don't want to drink it.

Okay I'm lazy if I had a set up like that I would want the barn at the tree line

I definitely do a lot of walking! But my great uncle did it everyday until 92, so I figure it probably kept him healthy! For fun sometimes I wear a pedometer to count my steps for the day.

We actually have a road that goes from the house to the barn, its covered with wood chips (we have like hundreds of yards of wood chips.. we keep finding things to help use them up) so it's really easy to transport things back & forth with our truck because we can just drive right out. And we just recently got a new tractor.. much more capable than our 1949 farmall cub! Honestly the best tool I could ever hope to have. I love it SO much. No more breaking our backs dragging fencing panels across the yard!! Helps dragging cut logs and moving big tree pieces for splitting.

Try a Mediterranean or Middle Eastern market for goat products.
You be surprised where you can find one as diverse as our society is.
Yaya I know healthy living.

I'm confused. Are your plants in the cans? Or are the cans sitting beside the plants?

Sorry I missed a lot. DD had the baby today.

The plants are inside the cans. I put the cans around the plants when they are planted. You can of course use plastic buckets or any other large container. I volunteer at a school so I get them there. You could I suppose ask at a restaurant for some. They do rust and need to be replaced.

Thanks for the congrats. '

Ordered a bunch of catalogs today. You can go to AGRP-JAN.com and it will bring you to a site to order lots of catalogs you may be interested in. I do order some things from catalogs. Some seeds and plants can't be gotten locally.

We got snow here today. I am not happy.

I still have some hoses to bring inside and flower pots. I have to make sure things are cleared up since I snow blow to the coops. I expect it to be a heavy snow year.
