pick pick pick. Every ripe berry or grape you see pick it. That encourages the plant to produce more fruit. It might take a few years but keep at it.

Would they do good if cut and planted on tilled soil? It's so hard to pick ours due to the thorns on the berry bush.

X2 on advice on wild grapes and black berries. I also have some at the back of our property its a bush and there are grapes and what I thing is black berries I would like to tend them and plant some in our property, they hang over a trench/creek to our side and drop on our property. 

Early spring take a nice sized clipping from a branch and play it about 12 inches deep cut side down. It takes a bit to root and establish but it's worth the wait. Also take a good sized shovel full of chicken poo and put around the base.

Both should as long as coming from a healthy plant. We have transplanted a lot of plants with good turnout.

Don't wild grapes have male and female vines? You would need to make sure to transplant some of each or you won't get grapes. I don't have a source on that but I'm 90% sure that is the case.

I had good luck just seeding an area with wild grapes. I used the grapes for jam (they made a terrific jam) and threw the seeds out along a fence. It took a couple of years, but there are now tons of wild grapes growing.

I went there last evening and saw that some of the berry plants have started growing on or property (we did't do a good job of mowing this year)

I'll dig those up and plant them on the fence of the chicken run.

My 3yr old would be excited if there was snow. she woke up disappointed when she looked out the window and there was no snow. Personally still glad to find green grass my chickens can eat.
