Homework *groan*

As a parent of a 9th grader, I feel homework is a waste of time. Especially when its just busy work. My son spends 7 hours at school. Why on earth must he come home and do more. He used to have an hours worth of math HW last year, it was nothing but busy work. He made an A in math last year. He didn't need the extra hour of HW. Just took away from life outside of school and time from doing other HW. It was stupid. I say if a child doesn't finish the work during class, then thats fine to do it at home. But don't give them more. It doesn't always make them a better student.

*sigh* Well I weigh 93 pounds (I'm tall and skinny for my age), so that means my backpack was about 43% of my weight. Jooooyyyy.
I would use a wheel backpack, but they don't fit in our lockers. It's a no-win situation...

Could you wheel it to the back of each classroom?
In gym, could you leave it in the teacher's office?
Just trying to come up with some ways around the locker size problem...

Oh, no, we can't carry bags in school or in the halls during the day, something about a fire hazard.

I've thought this over long and hard... I'd love it if someone could find a good solution to this, my brain is all worn out from that algebra homework!

Geez - I'm at a loss.
Oh, wait....Do any of your friends that are in the same classes live nearby? You could take turns with who carries which textbooks home, and do homework together...?

LOL, just one in my grade, and she alternates between her mom's house just down my street and her dad's house about a mile away from me (5 mins on a bike). I take the bus, a very crowded one (three to a seat, every day).

BUMMER.
I guess it's back to the idea of educating your teachers as to the physiologic weight limits that can be safely handled by a 94lb person? GOOD LUCK with that.....

Doctor's note?

LOL, like britt said, GOOD LUCK to me... I doubt I'll have much success. I can try it though... I'll start with my Science teacher... *forms evil plan*

Don't forget the documentation! Do I see a science project in your future?

*goes and calls all friends for "scientific reasearch"*

I hate homework! I'm in high-school and as the OP said rolling backpacks don't fit in lockers, My two worst classes (for homework) are Holocaust (this is an extra class I'm only taking for half a year) gives homework every night and same thing with my American Cultures 2 (mandatory class).

With Holocaust it's not just a page it is a packet and with Am. Cultures 2 we get 3 or 4 almost unrelated papers! Okay done ranting.
