Here's the picture, I wish I had one from a month ago.View attachment 2924706
Darn. Australorps are definitely late bloomers. Maybe he knows his fate and is just hoping you won't notice. He just looks so rooster-ish here. I really wish I had a picture from a month ago, when 'she' was developing into a fine pullet.

Maybe I should have specified black, but I didn't think color mattered. Or maybe I should have specified most of the time....Not my Blue Australorps.
Green up there isn't even 12 weeks yet and last year one of my Blue Australorp girls laid her first egg a week before the California White did.

Maybe I should have specified black, but I didn't think color mattered. Or maybe I should have specified most of the time....I definitely think my hens didn't lay until they were at least 20 weeks old and they didn't fill all the way out until much later. Blues must be special.
My polish cockerel was already crowing at 9 weeks and already had the beginning feathering of a cockerel. He definitely was an early bloomer. But, with that said, his sister just started laying eggs - they are around 6.5 months now.![]()
so Killerbee - where did you get your Australorp?
