Honey bees and chickens

Hi All. I just did a wellness check on the bees and remaining chickens. I have 2 drones that are still very interested in me but they are not bothering the chickens. My honey makers seemed docile so I felt comfortable enough to go out without my bee suit on. I think that maybe; we just had a bad day. The hens have decided it's time to brood so I'll give them some space and see what a Lavender Americana and red Frizzle baby looks like. I hope the eggs are fertilized. If not, we'll get the girls some friends to hang out with. Thank you all for your thoughts and suggestions!

I have a hive and haven't ever seen the bees do anything like that. If they stung two chickens to death, I can see them doing the same to any animal coming next to their hive including myself. It would be insta-RAID on the hive.
I'm not going to kill my girls unless an expert says that they cannot be saved. They are very upset over moving to a new box. They have seemed to calm down.

I have had chickens around bees many times over many years without issue. OP, your bees are somehow different than mine or something got the colonies riled up.
I switched the frames to a new "condo," a really beautiful hive box. they were all really mellow when I smoked the box. Once that wore off, they began to attack. I walked away thinking that everything was fine.

I gave a hive a new home when my BF traded the guy at the liquor store a striper for them. They weren't happy about being transported but quickly calmed down.

Maybe to close to the chickens. You didn't have some African bees mix with your did ya? They can fly right there. Sorry for your loss.:(

I'm going to wait a few days, maybe weeks before I get new hens. It's best that the bees settle in first, right?
