every year for the past few years I've battled honeybees that have taken up residence between the crack in my front door and the cinder block wall the door is set in. When the hive is in full swing you can hear the buzz inside and outside.

It was never really a problem until my wife has come down with an allergic reaction to stings, and these guys havn't zapped her or me as of yet but there are hundreds of bees that are sprayed, foamed etc. every year.

Here's what I've tried so far other than poisons.........
Great Stuff - Sprayed that in to block their entry to the nest
Caulking - I scraped and went over and around these areas in the door in re-sealing it last fall. These lil buggers seem to chew right through anything that I've tried so I was wondering what I can do to have them move elsewhere, or make sure they can't come back year after year......

Tube of quickrete for the caulk gun?

There is a local honeybee club that will love to come get your bees. They consider them valuable. An easy way to find them is to call your county extension agent, in the phone book under county government.

If your for sure honeybees dont kill them we need all the honeybees because alot are dying right now call someone or put a ad in a paper but dont kill them

Yes, call someone (bee keeper) and they will come get the queen and the rest of the hive.

HoneyBees are diminishing fast ~ try not to have to kill them if you can

If it were my house my DH would be tearing open somthing and stealing some honey!! LOL I LOVE honey!

Most of my DH family is alergic to bees/ants/and anythign that stings....they have to carry those epi-pens (however you spell it-forgive me if I am wrong) with them at all times.

I agree with call the local honey bee club or ask around to find a beekeeper! They love to recover and rehome hives-wild bees are diminishing so quickly, they need all the genetic diversity they can find.

Rehomed bees do much better than purchased domestic ones because they are already accustomed to foraging the flowers and fauna indigenous to your area.

I like the idea, but the time and expense to tear out a door set into cinder block... Ug....... I suppose if they paid for it, but then there is no guarante they can get to the bees depending on where they are at in the blocks within that wall. Obviously I don't want to tear the front off my house so save some bees

you would be surprised at what a beekeeper can do with bees...its like magic...they can actually tap on a box which draws them to it and once the queen comes out the rest will follow..thus..no ripped out door frame and voila..no more bees

Well if that is that easy, the of course I'm going this route!!! Phew, i was getting scared for a minute there. My grandpa has experience with honey bees and he tells me that thats what they are.
