Honey Causes Airport Evacuation.

My husband threw his coat he had went hunting on his bag during his time home from work. Then when he went to the airport to return to work his bag was tested like normal. They did find small trace amounts of TNT and called him up to the counter to question him. Mind you this is a SMALL airport and my hubby goes through it every 3 weeks if not more. They all know him. The guy asked him how his hunting season had went. My husband explained we like to shoot clay pigeons....skeet shooting. The guy laughed and said he figured that was what it was and explained the situation to hubby. No charges or anything were filed since they knew hubby and understood the situation.

So for all of you out there, make sure that none of your clothing you have shot a gun with for any of the hunting sports, does not get near your bags you plan to travel on an airplane with.

Even some lotions will give a false positive for explosive materials.

I just don't understand why the agents became nauseous. It's honey in his bag, not pig poop.

I was at the range a couple months ago, sighting in my shotgun. Not having any sandbags, I used my backpack style purse to support the forend of the gun. I did make a mental note to try not to carry that purse the next time I fly some place.

I've seen the TSA guys swab gun cases... I always wonder how many of those don't test positive. ???

Anyhow, imagine being the guy with the honey... TSA agent being rushed off to the hospital, airport lockdown. He's probably out of honey now too.

Couple of things.. it wasn't carry on it was luggage to be loaded in belly of plane.... second thing.. they became nauseated after opening the bag and had to be rushed to the hospital... that was the funny part IMO. I'm all for them being careful, but the article said the passenger declared the honey in his luggage. Just a gross over reaction.
