I found hook worms in one of my chickens poops. I have safe guard for goats on hand 10%. 100mg/mL.
They drink from a 5 gallon bucket. I have 30 chickens to treat. Some are just introducing to outside and still have a quart waterer.
Is this effective and how much do I dose?

To treat most worms that poultry can have except for Tapeworm you can use Safeguard (Fenbendazole) or Valbazen (Albendazole). Both are given orally by weight; they do not mix well with water.

Here's how to give oral medications:

Safeguard dose is 0.23ml per pound of weight given orally once a day for 5 days in a row.
---OR---
Valbazen dose is 0.08ml per pound of weight given orally once, then repeated in 10 days.

Since you're dealing with hookworms and you have 30 chickens, I recommend using Valbazen and dose each chicken orally using a syringe without a needle. That way you know they got properly dosed.
It's best not to put wormers in water. You dont know if birds will drink it or drink enough of it be effective and sick birds dont drink.
Hookworms are serious business. Dont go barefooted or you risk getting infected with hookworms.
