"It was a very long time ago," Jasper sighed, resting his head on her back, what he didnt tell her is that to him, he relived it every day of his life.
”It’s still painful.” Amber said. She glanced outside. ”It’s almost afternoon. We’ve been in here since last night. I better get Violet and Oak some food.”
"I'll come with you," Jasper said standing. "Hunting is always more successful with two coyotes," he smiled and started out the den. He saw a Merle coyote with a split face and two toned eyes that looked remarkably similar to his mother and practically gaped at him.
Amber smiled. ”Thank-” she noticed the look on his face. ”What’s wrong?”
"Nothing," Jasper said staring at the coyote, "he just looks remarkably similar to my mother... and brother, but both are dead..." he said dazedly.
Amber frowned. ”Well, I’ve learned many things, Jasper. And one of them is that not everything is as it seems. He may very well be your brother.”
Jasper chooses to ignore the coyote and starts running to the field where they would find lots of rabbits.
Amber bounded after him, slowing down as she saw several rabbits in the grasses, their noses quivering.
