Ice snarled when he saw Kiro look at Ruby. But he was not ready for Kiro to suddenly fight like that! Since Kiro was already on top of him, Ice didn't have a good chance to get his neck. He couldn't reach any part of Kiro, except his tail. He bit at it desperately, letting go of Ruby who limped away.

Kiro winced but didn't stop. After biting down hard on Kiro's leg, he let go and stepped away. "Never treat Ruby, my mate, like that again!" He snarled. Inside, he felt a little bad about hurting Ice, but that didn't stop him from defending Ruby.
