Hoover’s new 2021 “Easter Eggers”

I got my “Americana” chicks back in April of last year through TSC/Hoover. They claimed they were Ameraucana and Araucana cross at that time. All of ours have pea combs and blue/gray legs. One doesn’t have a fluffy face though. Of the 7 we have, we get probably 5 blue/green eggs and 2 pink/brown ones.

The “new” version just sounds like they’re trying to make it sound more boujie the Grünleger is a legbar mix. So they’re just crossing EE with EE to get different(aka new) EE

My "Americana" chicks have the same coloring as yours but with single combs.

If you did indeed get starlight greens be happy! They are pretty awesome little birds. They sell those for over $7 each.

Mine lay about as often as my California Whites and the eggs are a lovely green.

These are my tsc/hoovers pullets from this year. About 12 weeks now. 7 out of 10 have a crest, all single combed and all yellow legged. One grew its comb like crazy overnight just these week, which I find interesting. None have beards or large ear tufts.

These look like they might be the labeled “Easter eggers”, rather than the “Americana”. Those buffish looking ones are pretty!

Thanks, yes! I think they are super neat! They just keep getting prettier the more feathering that comes in.

Americana, Starlight green egger, blue bell... they're all easter eggers... They're all mixes. Some of them have ameraucana blood to give them the blue egg gene. Some have legbar blood. Very few have araucana blood, since they're very expensive and are difficult to breed.

Yes, I know, I was just wanting to know if anyone has gotten chicks of what are Hoover’s new “Easter Eggers”, or knew any tidbits about them and their origins. Of course they are all mutts, but still interesting!

On FB and on here, I've seen several EE with crests, which would be the legbar mixes.

I have one EE left from this years TSC EEs and yes mine has a bit of a crest which means it probably has Legbar blood in there somewhere. Hopefully she will lay a nice blue egg
