We purchased 3 hatchery choice colored egg layer and 3 hatchery choice egg layer pullet chicks from Hoover Hatchery. They are 2.5 months old. I was excited to see what they would be, but still am unsure. One is definitely a Turken. We ordered 2 Golden Comets, too, so I know 3 of our 8. Hoping my photos are good enough. They are just started to come out to free range, so can try when the go out later, too. The blackish one (#3) actually has a black head but transitions to dark gray with black lacing for its body feathers. The white one (#1) had a gray mask on its face for awhile and has greenish legs.

It's fairly hard or impossible to know with Hoover's.
They mix so many breeds and call them hybrids with many fancy names.
Many can look alike and without much set as far as how they should look it's a challenge.

I'm not an expert, so don't quote me, but here are my guesses:

#1 - Leghorn
#2 - Looks a lot like my blue-laced red Wyandotte, but yours isn't really laced
#3 - Almost looks like a Starlight Green Egger!
#4 - Blue star
#5 - Very close to a brown leghorn, but not close enough (I don't *think*)

That would explain my difficulty. 😁

Thinking at this point jthe top 3 are my colored egg layers with #3 being a Starlight.
Could #5 be a brown leghorn? She is by far the most curious and adventurous.

Do leghorns have green legs? My son ordered Leghorns in the same order. This one started with a black face.

Quick google search said yellow legs. Here is a brown leghorn, she could be a cross I guess?

Sorry, I was talking about the white one probably not a leghorn due to green legs. I assumed that was a colored egg layer of some sort because of leg color. I am wondering if the #5 is a brown leghorn. She has very yellow legs.
