Beautiful birds with obvious health and vigor. I can't tell them apart -- Cordon has white feathers on her wing tips and Teriyaki doesn't (assuming that the next molt doesn't change anything), but otherwise they're perfectly identical.

I had them before. Breeding the Blue Australorp rooster over Blue Australorp hen's can give you Australorp chick's of black, blue, and occasionally even a splash.

All equally gorgeous.

I didn't know if whatever was used to introduce the blue coloration had brought any other characteristics along with the color. The ones I have are vigorously healthy and growing fast.

I'm considering possible roosters for my flock and they could be on the list.

Most breeders use blue orpingtons, since orpingtons and Australorps are closely related breeds. It takes several generations of breeding the cross back to purebred Australorps before you truly have only blue Australorps without the Orpington characteristics

Could those possibly be Hoover’s Sapphire Gems? I don’t see Blue Australorps on their website. I would definitely be interested in one, if they ever appeared in my Tractor Supply (they use Hoover)!!

I made an error in the beginning. My Blue Australorps are from Welp and I love them so much I have more ordered for June.

Mine are supposed to be ready for pickup in June too! Coming from Chick Depot, about 2 hours' drive from me. I am so freaking excited! How many are you getting? Pullets? Straight run?

I ordered five pullets. One will be named May, in honor and memory of @azygous' girl who just passed. She was the subject of a long thread that made me smile with joy, and cry with sorrow.

But I did get my blue austorps from TSC so guessing hoovers sells them to because TSC does get chicks from hoovers.

They definitionally selll blue austlorp because I got my blue austlorp Lilac from TSC of course hoovers has to sell them for TSC to get a hold of it so hoovers does sell them.
