I was wondering if anyone ahs ordered from hoovers hatchery. if not anyone have any good hatcheries????

Chickens for backyards is a great hatchery! So is cackle hatchery. I ordered from chickens for backyards and they all arrived happy and healthy! And you can order has little has 3 chicks. I recommend you look them up

I was looking at Chickens for Backyards also because they have sexed bantams and low minimum order quantity. How many did you order? What month of the year?

I received my 17 ducklings from Hoover hatchery today all healthy and happy, this is my second Hoover order I got turkies from them before and I'm waiting for my chicken chicks ..very good price, fast shipping and friendly customer service.

Hoover's the same hatchery that Tractor Supply orders their chicks from. Back in March I had an order of ten (11 shipped) shipped to me, 9 of the 11 died during shipping or within a few days.

ETA: I believe the two survivors are the two of five (3 picked up locally) that aren't laying very well.

I've never ordered from them, but I have ordered from Meyers, and of the 6 they shipped, all six are currently 14 weeks. They all survived, but I have one suspected cockerel, or confused pullet. I'm waiting for more feathers to decide.

A little over a month ago, I ordered 10 pullets from Hoover Hatchery. They came in on time and the 12 that were sent were alive and kicking, healthy as they can be. They are growing up a storm and share my paint room with me for a little while longer. They are getting kind of crowded in the 6x2 pen and I've had to put a screen top over it to keep them in. I have a coop ready but have put off putting them in it until this hurricane business makes up its mind what it's going to do. Probably another 2 weeks, I will put them outside. The coop is protected from the sun and most of the rain. The only predator that might get in that coop is a snake so I'm wanting them to get a little bit bigger. I'm very very pleased with the chicks I have received and they had to come all the way to NC before they got to eat or drink. (but they were sure ready to dive in then! LOL). They haven't stopped eating since then!!!
