Me too! Im fairly positive they are a cross between my speckled Sussex and my Orpington so who knows!! I’m eager to see the other chicks because some of the eggs are from my barred rock hen and silver laced Wyandotte hen too. Should be an interesting combo! I wonder if they will come out more buff or if they will be black or silver perhaps

Oh I will for sure! Charles is wiggling away, I can’t tell on my camera if he’s pipped yet but he has been wobbling and rocking especially now that there are two of them out and chirping and bumping into things! I would be surprised if he wasn’t pipped or close to hatching in the morning!

I wish I did for sure! I know he’s not a pure Orp or a specked Sussex, their eggs were the only ones I could differentiate at the time. He’s either barred rock, Wyandotte, or Rhode Island Red mixed with buff Orp. But to be honest I highly doubt my Rhode Island Red was laying because she was just finishing up a really hard molt. So my guess is barred rock or Wyandotte!

Okay!!! As of 5:00am (PST) Winchester (8) and Radar (6) have hatched sometime in the night!!! I think Winchester was third to hatch and Radar so far is 4th! This is now day 21 so I’m not sure when the others will hatch but I’ve seen them all wiggling about. We are just waiting on Charles, Hunnicutt, and Nugget! Go chickies go!

Course I don’t blame them for taking their time. Probably a bit challenging to hatch when your siblings are playing soccer with your egg
